EdgeGard is a patented system for concrete repair and restoration that utilizes advanced epoxy blends, hi-tech sealants, fiberglass pultrusions, and an eco-friendly and accellerated installation process. The system provides cracked and spalled balconies and other building surfaces such as beams and columns with an ultra-strong, money-saving repair process that can be completed much more rapidly and with much less mess than traditional concrete repairs. The system can be applied to either low-rise or hi-rise buildings but is generally not appropriate for repair of homes or single-level buildings.

Whether your building has an upcoming 40 year inspection or you are just seeing more of the telltale signs of cracked and spalled balcony edges, dripping and spreading rust stains, or exposed rebar, the problem is not going to go away on its own. The same applies to cracking and spalling of beams and columns. In either case, it will continue to get worse (and more expensive to address) as time passes. Building failure and condemnation are both potential outcomes that could eventaully be faced when the problem is left un-addressed.

The spalling process is inevitable in concrete buildings built anywhere that exposes them to salt water and/or salt air. Interior rebar is eventually exposed to salt air, beginning a process of rusting and subsequent gas venting from within the concrete that will continue to cause expansion, cracking, bubbling, and spalling. Eventually, if unchecked larger and larger pieces of concrete will begin eroding and falling away from the building.

While traditional concrete repair techniques are effective in treating these problems, they are expensive, destructive to the property, and can take years to complete. Once completed, they have an expected lifespan and warranty of five to ten years. Eventually, the process will have to be repeated.

The EdgeGard System utilizes advanced bonding materials and sealants (not concrete-based) combined with a proprietary pultruded fiberglass "form" to repair spalled balcony edges. Our system has been proven to be much stronger, longer lasting, and significantly cheaper to apply than traditional concrete repair. In addition, it is MUCH MORE ECO-FRIENDLY to the property and its premises. Environmental impact on residents and tenants is significantly reduced.
